2011 BOYS BAKETBALL

In 2011, the Sagemont Prep boys basketball team, coached by Adam Ross, delivered a landmark season that ended with the school’s first-ever state championship in any team sport. The Lions finished with a 27–4 overall record and went a perfect 5–0 in district play, earning recognition as one of Florida’s top programs with a #7 state ranking and the #1 spot in their division. Central to this success was team MVP Jeff Coby, whose scoring, rebounding, and defensive presence made him the cornerstone of Sagemont’s lineup. Alongside him, the backcourt was powered by skilled guards who controlled tempo, distributed the ball, and provided clutch shooting, giving the Lions a balanced attack both inside and out. The team also benefited from the emergence of versatile forwards who could stretch the floor, defend multiple positions, and step up in critical postseason moments. Collectively, these individual contributions blended seamlessly into a disciplined, cohesive unit that overwhelmed opponents with energy and depth.

By the time Sagemont lifted the state championship trophy, the season had showcased not only the talent of standout stars like Coby but also the resilience and teamwork of a roster fully committed to making history. Their 2011 title run became the foundation for Sagemont’s rise as a powerhouse in Florida high school basketball, inspiring future players and solidifying the program’s reputation for excellence.
