CLASS OF 2022

Akira Nakamura (Class of 2022) was an impactful two-way standout for the Sagemont Prep Lions baseball team, excelling as both a catcher and pitcher. Over his high school career, Akira compiled an impressive .324 batting average, scored 14 runs, tallied 7 RBIs, and posted a remarkable .448 on-base percentage, while slugging .366. On the mound, he showcased reliability and control with a 1.98 ERA across 17.2 innings, striking out 13 batters and maintaining a 1.47 WHIP. Following his prep career, Akira continued his academic and athletic journey at Barry University, where he began as a strong freshman presence behind the plate—slashing .429 with a 1.059 OPS, driving in 10 RBIs, scoring 16 runs, and maintaining an outstanding .989 fielding percentage.
