Herman W. Bryson Gymnasium was opened in 1923. Bryson Gym's wooden bleachers, which surround three sides, hold about 2,300. Windows from the top of the bleachers to the ceiling sit above each section, providing loads of natural sunlight throughout the day.

The history that seeps through the facility's walls is complemented by one of North Carolina's most unique playing surface, "The Blacktop," an all-black court introduced in the fall of 2020.
