Brian Robinson graduated from R. J. Reynolds High School in 1990. He was captain of both the JV and varsity baseball and basketball teams. Robinson was awarded All City Basketball Athlete by the Winston-Salem Chronical in 1988 and awarded the RJR Student Athlete of the Year in 1990. Robinson received Central Piedmont AAAA All Conference in baseball in 1990. At the time of graduation, Robinsonβs .436 batting average was the 3rd highest ever at RJR. After Reynolds, he attended Appalachian State where he played on the baseball team. He later returned to Reynolds, coaching both baseball and basketball teams. He remained in the area, coaching for Bishop McGuinness High School where he won 11 state championships. Robinson is recognized for winning several local, state and national Coach of the Year awards, holding the state record for the most consecutive state basketball titles.
