Heidi Myers Minton was born in 1976 in Springfield, Ohio to Rodger and DebbieMyers. She has one younger brother Wes Myers, who she loved to share the soccer field with when she was older. She was a 1994 graduate of Tecumseh High School. She graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University in 1998 where she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She was a three-sport athlete playing soccer, basketball, and softball her Freshman through Junior years, lettering in all three varsity sports. Heidi continued to play soccer and basketball her Senior year, but decided during her senior year to give up softball in order to prepare for her college soccer career.
Heidi began playing soccer at the age of five and her love for the game only continued to grow the more she played. In her early playing days, select teams for girls were hard to find, so she played on a boy’s travel team. Eventually, her dad formed a girl’s select team, but she continued to play in the boys training events throughout high school to get more touches on the ball. Heidi started varsity every game of her 4 years in high school for soccer. Throughout her high school career, she received post season awards in each of her 4 years for soccer including 1st team CBC, 1st Team All County, 1st Team South-west All-Ohio, was named team captain her Sophomore through Senior seasons, and was named MVP her Junior and SeniorYear. She set school records for assists in a game, assists in a season, and assists in a career and led or tied the team in scoring her Junior and Senior year. She received the Arrow award for basketball her Senior year. The teams she played on also had success during her high school career. Her soccer team was CBC Co-Champs her sophomore year and CBC Champs her Junior and Senior years. Her basketball team was CBC champs her senior year. Heidi also excelled in academics, graduating in the top ten in her class. She was in various extracurricular activities outside of sports including National Honor Society, Treasurer for SADD, Choir, Musicals, Mission Awareness, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Upon graduating from Tecumseh, Heidi received an athletic soccer scholarship from Wheeling Jesuit University. Although shewas fortunate to remain healthy in high school, she tore her left ACL playing soccer the summer before her Freshman year. She redshirted her Freshman year and was back on the field playing the following year. Unfortunately, midway through herJunior year she tore her right ACL in a game. After 2 full ACL reconstruction surgeries and lots of physical therapy, she playedall four seasons of soccer at Wheeling Jesuit which included a trip to England and Scotland to play. She graduated in December of 1998 where she began her professional career at Price Waterhouse Coopers in Cincinnati and earned her CPA. She is currently a Senior Director in the Global Tax Group at The Procter & Gamble Company. Today, after 6 knee surgeries, her playing days are over. She now loves watching her kids play soccer and various other sports from the sidelines with her husband Jeff, who is also a huge soccer fan. They have three kids,Blake (14), Paige (12), and Cameron (10). She reminds them of all the lessons that can be learned from sports and how hard work can really pay off in so many ways. Her passion for soccer is still high as her family took a trip of a lifetime this summer to Australia and New Zealand to support Team USA in the Women’s World Cup.
Heidi is honored to become a member of the Tecumseh Athletic Hall of Fame. Some of her best memories are from her time at Tecumseh and many of her best friends from school are still her best friends today. She attributes her personal and professional success to her parents, brother, high school and college teachers and coaches. Especially her dad, who was her coach at Tecumseh through Junior year.
