Buddy Husic (1998)

OUTSTANDING ATHLETE

Leadership, dedicated, hard worker are just a few words to identify the son of Anthony and Lynn Husic, Anthony (Buddy) Husic. Playing for Tecumseh 1978 through 1981, Buddy was 3 year letterman in football. Not only being recognized as the Team Captain and Team Most ValuablePlayer, he would receive recognition on the All County Team. Buddy also received honors in the Miami Central Conference on the All Conference Team and the All Area Team.

Participating in basketball for three years he would receive two varsity letters and be the Team Captain his senior year.

The three years of baseball participation would bring three varsity letters. Participation on two MCC All Conference teams and the All area team went hand in hand by the votes of the teams Most Valuable Player for two years and the Team Captain his Senior year.

Though busy participating in sports, Buddy found the time to be involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Varsity T Club. Adding to the many accomplishments in sports, he would also be tapped the Homecoming King. Buddy would receive the Rob Manemann Scholarship Award his senior year.

Upon graduation from Tecumseh, Buddy attended the University of Wisconsin - Superior from 1981 to 1985. While there participation as a three year letterman of the football team would bring the Most Valuable Defensive Back award twice, All Conference and Team Captain awards. Wishing to excel, Buddy was voted Rookie of the Year in baseball in the 1982 season which would propel him to become Team Captain along with a four year letterman at UWS. Upon receiving his B.S. in Computer Information Systems in 1985, Buddy would become the Recipient of the Most Dedicated Male Athlete at the University of Wisconsin - Superior.

After a small coaching stint as Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Tecumseh, he would spend his next few years watching his brother Mike set many records at Tecumseh. Along with his sisters Vivien, Patty, Colleen and mother Lynn they and his wife Dana, spend Friday nights at Tecumseh watching Mike coach football.
