Cindy Cremeans (2003)

Cindy Cremeans was a member of the 1992 graduating class of Tecumseh High School. She was a three sport student-athlete playing volleyball, basketball and softball all four years of her high school career. Her career straddled Tecumseh's league change from the GMVC to the CBC in 1990. Of the 12 seasons in which she participated she received 11 varsity letters and was all league in at least one sport since her freshmen year. Cindy's career climaxed in first team CBC honors and District 9 honors in both basketball and softball.

More specifically, her accomplishments in volleyball included breaking three school records in saves, digs and service percentage. Cindy was named her volleyball team MVP during her junior year.While playing basketball Cindy was named All Conference for three years, District 9 Player of the Year and Special Mention All Ohio in 1991 and scored over 1000 points in her four year stint. She was also named Miss Basketball of Clark County in 1992. Cindy broke school records in field goal percentage (55.7%), free throw percentage (83.3%), most steals in a season (113), and most three pointers in a game (5). Cindy received the Arrow Award in basketball three years in addition to being named team MVP her junior and senior years. In softball Cindy was the starting short stop since her freshmen year and all conference all four years. She also led her team in batting average both her junior and senior years.

The teams Cindy was a part of knew how to win. Each of the sports she participated in had success including tournament success. The volleyball team was District Runner Up her senior year. The basketball team was league runner up three consecutive years and also District Runner Up back to back years her junior and senior seasons. In addition, the softball team played in the Regional Final game during her junior season. Off the court and playing field, Cindy was very active in extracurricular club and organizations. She was Secretary of the National Honor Society, Vice President of SADD, Treasurer of FCA, a member of Astronomy Club, Homecoming Attendant and the recipient of the Citizenship Award her senior year.

Upon graduating from Tecumseh, Cindy began her college career at the University of Findlay where she played both basketball and softball for two years. She then transferred to Cedarville University where she completed her career. Cindy enjoyed success once again in the athletic realm being named All-League in the Mid Ohio Conference in both sports. She scored over 1000 points in her college basketball career, was named an NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) All-American in Basketball and recorded two triple doubles her senior year. Cindy still holds basketball records at Cedarville including a perfect shooting game of 11 for 11 from the field, most steals in a season (134), most steals in a game (10), most assists in a game (12) and she also holds a record for most triples hit in a season (6) for softball.

Cindy began teaching Social Studies and became an assistant basketball coach at Tippecanoe High School before returning to her alma mater in 2000 to assume the varsity girls basketball head coach position. Cindy was voted Coach of the Year in Clark County by the area coaches in the 2000-2001 season. She strives to give back to the school and community that gave so much to her. She would like to thank her family, friends, and coaches for their continued support and encouragement.
