January 21st, 1954, Amy Brooks became a "Wee Arrow". Amy was born to loving parents Ralph and Jean Brooks and an older sister Becky. Amy started her early school years in the rural town of Medway, graduating from Tecumseh High School in 1972.

As an Arrow Amy was involved in the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Choir, Musicals and of course G.A.A. (Girl's Athletic Association). She played all 5 sports - field hockey, volleyball, basketball, softball, and track. She received the most valuable player award in basketball and softball. Amy's biggest and most privileged accomplishments in the sports arena was being selected to receive the ALL SPORTS AWARD. This award was the highest honor a female athlete could receive. The requirements for this distinguished award, be a varsity starter of all 5 sports for all 3 years of high school. She accomplished this task and received the ALL SPORTS AWARD her senior year.

After graduation, Amy attended Murray State University in Murray Kentucky. She double majored i n Physical Education and Health Education, and was fortunate to play basketball, softball and graduate in 4 years. Amy's teaching and coaching career started with Paducah City Schools.

She taught elementary physical education and was varsity assistant girls basketball coach a t Paducah Tillman High School. Arrow land was where Amy's heart lay. When the opportunity arose to teach and coach in theNew Carlisle Bethel Local School District, she fired up her Vega and returned home. Her first assignment was New Carlisle Junior High School, teaching health and physical education, and coaching 8" grade girls volleyball, basketball, and track. In 1980, THS became a 4-year high school. Amy was asked to come to the high school to teach. She coached junior varsity volleyball - 20 years, girls varsity tennis - 1 year, junior varsity softball - 17 years, assistant varsity softball - 8 years. Coaching 29 years had its ups and downs but many rewarding memories. Amy's most cherished memories - Paducah Tillman girl's varsity basketball team finished in the elite 8 of the Kentucky State Basketball Tournament in 1976, coaching girl's varsity tennis team to GMVC Champs in 1991, coaching state qualifier Diana Marshall Accurso 1991, coaching the only undefeated JV softball team 20-0 in 1995, coaching under varsity coach Barb Nagel sharing in 3 district titles, 2 conference titles, 3 time regional runner-up, 3 time district runner-up in Tecumseh Softball.

Amy retired from Arrow land in 2007. While enjoying life in the SLOW LANE, her Toyota hasn't forgotten the route to THS. Amy is still involved in Tecumseh athletics. She works as a fall site manager, works the volleyball sectional tournament, runs the clock for the girls and boys basketball teams .Amy sends thanks and praise to all who invested time and faith in her Arrow years. They have been the best 43 years a teacher and coach could ever ask for.
