Rick Rogers (1999)

Football, basketball, and baseball would be tagged the major three sports to participate in high school. Rick Rogers would earn seven varsity letters at Tecumseh High School while participating in nine seasons.
Rick would become a member of the Varsity T club his sophomore year by first lettering in baseball. At this time. Tecumseh was a three-year high school. Not many sophomores would earn varsity letters their first year at THS. The Varsity T club would eventually see Rick become the club president his senior year. Helping obtain this role would be base on his receiving varsity letters in basketball and football. Participating in the Mad River Valley League, Rick would be recognized on the All MRVL Baseball Team his senior year. Along with this, he would be chosen to be on the All-State Baseball Team his senior year also.
Recognizing the importance of being involved, Rick could also be found participating in the Spanish Club. Chess Club and Bible Club. He would be selected by his peers to be the Junior Class President.
Selected as a 3rd round draft choice in the June Major League Draft in 1968. Rick would find his jersey changing from Tecumseh High School to the Washington Senators. Participating in the minor league levels of A-Western Carolina League, AA - Eastern League and AAA - American Association, he would play several positions as an infielder. Selected to the Western Carolina League All-Star Team in 1969. During this time. Rick would spend time with not only the Washington Senators organization. but also the Texas Rangers organization.
After his playing days in professional baseball, Rick would attend Clark State and become self-employed as Graphic Arts/Printing Production Contractor. He and wife Joy, have two children, Jennifer and R.J. He has coached youth baseball teams for six years in the Northwestern Amateur Athletic Association.
