Bob Rinker (2001)

Bob was born March 5, 1942, in Springfield, Ohio. He is a 1960 graduate of Tecumseh High School, and a lifetime resident of Bethel Township.

Bob has been engaged in farming all of his life. Doing business under the name of Rinker Brothers, Bob and his brother Dick have been involved in raising corn, soybeans, wheat, cattle and hogs, as well as selling Pioneer seed.

From 1963 to 1974, Bob was employed by the New Carlisle-Bethel/Tecumseh Local School district as a bus driver. During those 11 years, Bob also drove the boy's basketball team bus, for the then athletic director, Doug Chaffins. It was during this tenure as "team driver", that Bob garnered the nickname "Pierre".

In July, 1974, Bob married Roberta Glaser. Currently a fourth grade teacher at Westlake, Robbie has taught in the New Carlisle-Bethel/Tecumseh Local School system since 1972.

Bob has been actively involved in the Tecumseh Athletic Boosters for over 40 years. Some of the projects that he has been involved in are: Helped build the first football stadium at Tecumseh; Helped build and renovate the concession stands at the football stadium; Helped build the boy's baseball dugouts; Helped build the girl's softball dugouts: Helped build the shelter at the soccer practice field; Helped build the new athletic facility. In addition to being involved with these(and many more) projects, Bob was a member of the "Chain Gang" for Tecumseh's football games,for 26 years. During this 26-year period, Bob never misses a single game.

Bob continues to be an active member of the Athletic Boosters. Most recently, he helped organize the Phil Dirt and the Dozers' concert held this past August, during the Booster's Annual Kick Off Day.Tecumseh High School is proud to induct Mr. Bob Rinker into the Tecumseh Athletic Hall of Fame.
