Jon Stafford (2007)

Jon Stafford was a member of the 1995 graduating class of Tecumseh High School. He played basketball and baseball during his years at Tecumseh. He lettered all four years in basketball and three years in baseball. He enjoyed playing baseball but it was clear that his true passion was for the game of basketball.
During Jon's years at Tecumseh he was a starter on the varsity basketball team his sophomore, junior, and senior years. During his junior and senior years his team's records were 27-17 with two second-place finishes in the league. Jon's basketball accomplishments included being selected first team All-CBC, first team All-Southwest District, Dayton Daily and Springfield News first team, District 9 All-Star, Clark County "Mr. Basketball", selected to North vs. South State All-Star game, and honorable mention all-state. Jon set several school records in his career; 43 points in a game, free throw 88.8% for a season, free throw 86.5% for a career, and highest single-season average of 25.3 points per game (shooting 54.8% from the field.) He also scored 1,207 career points and six times scored over 30 points in a game.
Upon graduating from Tecumseh, Jon decided to play basketball at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. While at Wittenberg he started his sophomore, junior, and senior year and compiled a four-year record of 79 and 28 that included one league title and one Division III Sweet Sixteen appearance. Jon ranks 23rd on Wittenberg's all time leading scorer list with 1053 points.
Jon graduated Wittenberg University in 2000 with a degree in Business Management and started working for the family construction company (he specializes in commercial construction and recently completed New Carlisle Elementary for the Tecumseh School District.) He is a member of the New Carlisle Rotary Club and coaches freshmen basketball at Tecumseh.
In 2001, he married Michelle Jamison, Tecumseh Class of 1997, who is employed by KetteringSports Medicine as an athletic trainer. They currently live in Medway with their son, Brayden 2, and they are expecting their second child in March.
