Wendy Mobley-Bukstein

Wendy Mobley-Burkstein, a proud graduate of Olympia High School’s class of 1993 and class salutatorian, has built an impressive career grounded in excellence and service. During her high school years, Wendy was honored with the HMC Health Professions Scholarship and the Roseanne Schuster Scholarship. She was actively involved in the National Honor Society, Speech Team, Yearbook, and multiple music ensembles including Marching, Concert, Pep, Pit, and Jazz Bands. Wendy continued her academic journey at Drake University, where she graduated in 1999. At Drake, she earned membership in Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity and the American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists. She was also a recipient of the West Central Illinois Pharmacists Association Scholarship. Currently, Wendy serves as an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Drake University. Her leadership and service extend through numerous professional organizations, including the American Pharmacists Association, Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacists, Iowa Pharmacy Association, and the Iowa Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. She has also contributed to community health through Camp Hertko Hollow Diabetes Camp for Kids and the Illinois Council for Health. Wendy has made significant media contributions through podcasts, interviews, and blog posts, and has funded research projects in diabetes and pharmaceutical care. Following her graduation from Drake University, Wendy returned to her Olympia community to serve as the Director of Hospital and Long Term Care Pharmacy at Hopedale Medical Complex for a decade, demonstrating her dedication to local healthcare and leadership. Wendy Mobley-Burkstein stands as a remarkable example of the quality education and community spirit fostered by Olympia schools.
