Dan Allen '05
A Delmar, New York native and graduate of Albany Academy, Allen spent three seasons as a stalwart for the Blue Wave after transferring from Division I Indiana University, aiding the team to three SUNYAC team titles and a 27-2 dual meet record. Bringing a Division I mentality and work ethic to the pool, Allen helped transform the culture of the team to a more dedicated, driven student-athlete. In 2004, Allen participated in the NCAA Division III championships and in 2005, he was named the SUNYAC Championships Most Outstanding Swimmer. A 13-time SUNYAC Champion sprinter, Allen held the school record in the 50 free and the school and SUNYAC records in the 200 and 400 free relay at the time of his graduation. Following graduation, Allen remained with the program for three seasons as an assistant coach. His work ethic in the pool migrated to the deck, resulting in head coaching opportunities at both Buffalo State and Pace University.
