EMILY LAVARNWAY
Two-time National Champion
Lavarnway earned both her National Championships in the 2021 season.
Her first comes from the heptathlon:
She began the heptathlon with a first place finish in the 100m hurdles, obtaining a time of 14.19.
This was followed by a third place finish in the high jump (1.68m) and a second place in shot put (11.62m), she ended day one with another first place finish in the 200m finishing with a time of 25.37.
Continuing the heptathlon the next day of events, she placed first in the long jump with a score of 5.80m, but fell to third place in the overall standings with a 14th place in the javelin (28.68m).
She was able to secure first place overall back in the last event, the 800m, scoring a time of 2:17.37 and getting her first National Championship and becoming the first Knight in program history to win the heptathlon.
Her second national championship comes from the same NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship where she won the heptathlon.
She led the charge for the women's 4x400 relay team helping lead them to a time of 3:43.19.
