2017 Track & Field 1962-1963

The inaugural Men’s Track & Field Team (1962-63) was coached by the Gary Feasel. Members of the first team were: Dennis Getchell, Larry Gregory, Charles Hartwell, Jim Jellison, Tom Johnson, Louis Lambert, Stu Merchant, Larry Mikulecky, Arnold Sampson, Steve Silverstone, Dean Southam and Al Stvetzle. In the spring term of 1963, SWOCC added the men’s track & field team to improve the athletic department, but their first competition was cancelled due to rain. The first meet was held on April 18th in Central Oregon. Coach Feasel recruited local athletes and current students to participate. The team trained at the North Bend High School track.
