CLASS OF 1965
One of the very few WHS male athletes to be a 14 or more varsity letterman in his 4years – Cross Country, Track, Baseball,
and Basketball (Junior Varsity for 2 years)
Baseball – Catcher and Outfielder for 4 years and the starting catcher for all of the games on the 1964-65 State Tournament qualifier. He led the team in hitting down the stretch run of the State Tourney run
Basketball – 2 Year Varsity letterman and played 2 years Junior Varsity
Track & Field – 4 year Varsity letterman
Cross Country – 4 year Varsity letterman
Awards – Received a baseball scholarship to Evansville University and was their catcher for 3 years and team captain for 2 years. Earned all-conference honors all 3years. Inducted to IL USSSA Hall of Fame for slow-pitch softball after his collegiate years.
