Meghan Schneider (San Diego, Calif.) capped off her senior year at Louisville by being named the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Scholar Athlete of the Year. A nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year award, Schneider was also a First Team Academic All-America pick by CoSIDA in 2021 and became the first player in program history to earn the NCAA Elite 90 Award for the 2020-21 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship, posting the highest GPA (4.0) of the participating semifinal teams. Athletically, Schneider also earned NFHCA All-America honors and finished her career as a two-time NFHCA All-West Region selection. Schneider plans to attend the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine with the goal of practicing medicine in a hospital setting to reach underserved urban populations.
