Frances was a Track and Field athlete at Taylor High School, lettered and won ribbons for Discus, Softball, Shot Put throw, 60 yard Hurdles and the 880 Yard Relay at the Hamilton County Public Schools Track and Field meet. Mary "Lib" Russell, her coach in her senior year, wrote in her yearbook, "What would I have done without you in Track?" In her senior year, Fran was awarded the Babe Ruth Foundation Sportsmanship Award Medal. After High School, she played Fast Pitch with a local team and Slow Pitch softball with RCA In Cincinnati. Fran has competed in the southwest Ohio Senior Olympics in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001, medaling in Shot Put, Softball, Discus, Javelin and Football Throw, Bowling, Golf Chipping and 8-Ball Pool, She also competed in the Ohio State Olympics in 2000 in Shot Put and Discus Throw, medaling in the Shot Put.
