Keith attended Taylor from 1982-86 and participated in football, basketball and track. Basketball was the sport he excelled in and he earned 4 Varsity letter to prove it. He was one of the most outstanding basketball players in the school's history. He was the leading scorer and rebounder for three consecutive seasons. He averaged 22.6 points and 12.7 rebounds per game. He was the team's M.V.P. twice. When Keith was a junior, the 1984-85 team made it to the final game of the Regionals which was the best finish Taylor had ever had in state basketball competition. Keith received much recognition for his excellent play. He was All-League Hamilton county 1984, '85 and '86, Ist team AlI-City Cincinnati Enquirer 1984, '85 and '86, Ist team Cincinnati Post 1984, '85 and '86. Ist team Southwest Ohio 1985 and '86, 2nd team All-State 1984, 1st team All-State 1985 and '86 and Honorable mention All-USA. He was rated in the top 100 prospects in 1986. Keith received a basketball scholarship to the University of Cincinnati. In 1993 Keith was chosen as a free agent by the Boston Celtics.
