Roberta played basketball and ran track & field while attending Taylor High School. She set records in both the shot put and as a member of the 880-yard relay team. Roberta received a Medal for most points in the Sr. Girls Division in track. She was awarded an All-Star letter in 1940. Roberta went on to excel in AAU Basketball from 1941-1944.
