Don attended Taylor from 1936-1939 where he played football, basketball, baseball and ran track. In all, he earned 13 Varsity letters. He was captain of the football, basketball, and baseball teams. He led the football team in scoring. In baseball, Don caught and played other infield positions. He batted .413 to lead the team and was selected MVP. Taylor was the State Runner-up in baseball in 1939. Don went to Butler University where he played basketball and baseball. He entered the U.S. Marines, and retired as a Lt. Colonel in 1965.
