'85 '07 Football | Basketball

In 1981 Elder High School wanted Jim to play football for them, but after his freshman year he decided to return to Taylor because he missed his friends. Elder's loss was Taylor's gain! During his years at Taylor, Jim participated in football, basketball and baseball. In football he earned three varsity letters. He was selected first team all-league offensive and defensive tackle his junior and senior years. As a senior Jim was team captain, selected MVP by his coaches and led the team in tackles. He was named first team offensive and defensive tackle by the Cincinnati Enquirer and the Post and second team all-southwest Ohio offensive tackle. Jim also participated in the East/West all-star game.Although football was his first love, Jim earned two varsity letters in basketball. He was a member of the highly successful '84-85 basketball team on which he played both centerand forward and served as one of the team captains. Jim also earned a varsity letterin baseball. Upon his 1985 high school graduation, Jim went to Wilmington College where he was an outstanding four year letterman in football. In 1989 he received his college degree in Business Administration.Jim now resides in the Three Rivers School District with his wife, Dawn, and daughter, Olivia. There is also a new baby on the way. Jim continues to be involved in the community by coaching football in the Three Rivers Youth Athletic Association.
