Charlie earned three Wing-T's while at Taylor. He ran track, played baseball, football and basketball. In basketball Charlie was All-League and AlI-City. In baseball he was a member of the 1962 State Championship Team. Charlie pitched in all 8 tournament games and received All-State recognition as top pitcher. He had a .5 ERA for the entire season.
