Martha coached girls' basketball and volleyball at Taylor from 1975-'80. Her basketball teams were outstanding. While coaching both reserve and varsity, her teams met with tremendous success. The reserve teams won the league title each year. The varsity teams qualified for the Regional tournament 3 out of 5 years, 1976, '78 and '79. In 1979 the varsity girls' basketball team made it to the Final Four of the Ohio Girls' State Basketball Tournament. Martha received the Buddy LaRosa Award twice for stellar coaching. She was the Cincinnati Enquirer Coach of the Year in 1979 and was co-coach of the East-West All-Star game. In addition Congressman Charlie Luken had the United States Congress declare "Taylor High School" day. Martha coached girls' basketball and volleyball at Taylor from 1975-'80.
