Donnie played football, basketball and baseball at Taylor from 1962-1965. Starting on both offense and defense in football, he was selected All-League. In baseball Donnie played on the 1965 District Championship Team, batting .427 and voted Most Valuable Player. In basketball, he won the 110% Award both his junior and senior years. As a senior he averaged 17 points per game and received All-League and AII-City honors.
