Learn more about Kim Mulkey:

Kim Mulkey is one of the most accomplished figures in women’s college basketball history. As a guard at Louisiana Tech (1980–84), she helped win both the 1981 AIAW title and the 1982 NCAA championship, then added Olympic gold in 1984 with Team USA. She spent 15 years coaching at Louisiana Tech before taking over at Baylor in 2000, where she built a dynasty — capturing three national championships (2005, 2012, 2019) and delivering a historic 40–0 season. In 2021, she returned home to LSU and, in just her second year, led the Tigers to the 2023 national title. Mulkey — a member of both the Naismith (2020) and Women’s Basketball (2000) Halls of Fame — is the first in women’s college basketball history to win national championships as a player, assistant coach, and head coach. Her legacy is defined by elevating every program she touches with toughness, discipline, and a championship standard.
