Gus Kalikas is an athletic director who consistently puts “the student-athlete's best interest ahead of anything,” using sports as a classroom for life lessons. A long-time coach in the community, he has worked with many Crusaders since their elementary and middle school town sports days and now takes pride in seeing them excel at the high school level.

When the head football coach stepped down in May, Gus stepped in as interim head coach, guiding a senior class he had once coached as third graders to a 7–2 season and a playoff appearance. He also leads a student-athlete–driven leadership group that organizes community service and coordinates meaningful experiences like annual visits to a children’s school and hospital, reinforcing empathy, gratitude, and service as core values of the program.
