Ripon High School

Rod Wright is a phenomenal leader in the Ripon High School athletic department who has made student-athletes a top priority for more than 30 years as an educator and coach in the community. In addition to his work with Ripon High basketball, he has long invested in youth sports, introducing young children to soccer and basketball and serving for decades as junior league basketball director and former soccer director, as well as an active member of the Ripon Recreation Commission.

As part of the school’s social media and Ripon High SuperFan teams, he spends countless hours outside the normal workday promoting campus events and even interviewing vendors and attendees at the weekly farmers market to spotlight the community. Humble and selfless, Rod has been recognized as the 2023 Sac-Joaquin Section Athletic Director of the Year and a local VFW Teacher of the Year.
