Derek Hall is an exceptional educator and athletic administrator who balances his role as athletic director with serving as an assistant principal at Butler High School. Known for his strong organizational skills and clear, consistent communication, he makes sure athletes, coaches, families, and community partners feel informed, supported, and included, which strengthens every aspect of the athletic program. Derek brought Gipper to Butler and empowers student interns to run social media, while maintaining an active presence at games, congratulating athletes in the hallways, and celebrating both small improvements and big wins.

Beyond athletics, he wears many hats—conducting classroom walkthroughs, providing professional development for the math department, helping manage students daily, and serving as principal for ESY and summer enrichment programs. Colleagues say he seems to know everyone, always remembers names, and is the first to offer help in any way he can.
