William Lawson III is an experienced athletic director who is always looking for new and innovative ways to improve his department and enhance the experience for student-athletes. He has launched an Athletic Leadership Council to give students a voice and built a student-run media department that highlights athletes and their accomplishments. Committed to equity, he ensures all sports follow Title IX guidelines and that girls’ programs receive the same resources, attention, and opportunities as boys’ sports.

William leads his coaches with the expectation that those standards of excellence and character will “trickle down” to athletes, emphasizing the importance of being well-mannered and respectful in school and in the community. Known for going above and beyond, he refuses to put time limits on his work, staying as long as it takes to get the job done for his school.
