BEN PAUL
Athletic Director
Monroeville Schools
For more than 30 years, Ben Paul has served as athletic director at Monroeville High School, leading transformational facility projects and shaping a values-driven athletic culture in a small community of 1,500 people. He has helped facilitate the construction of a new gymnasium, track and field complex, baseball and softball fields, and a renovated football stadium—projects largely funded through general funds, volunteers, and donations—and has played a key role from design to completion, uniting many different personalities around one goal: giving student-athletes first-class facilities.
Beyond wins and championships, Ben “coaches his coaches,” ensuring they have the resources and support they need while holding firm to the district’s core values of character and representation. His leadership also led to a district-wide service learning requirement—10 hours per year to graduate—which has resulted in more than 33,000 hours of community service and instilled in students a deep understanding that how they serve others matters just as much as how they perform on the field.
