Ricky Hammer has played a pivotal role in transforming Purcell’s athletic department, raising expectations across all sports and bringing much-needed structure and stability to a program that was “somewhat in shambles” just a few years ago. Under his leadership, Purcell has added boys’ and girls’ soccer as well as eSports, opening up entirely new opportunities for students to compete, belong, and represent their school in ways that fit their interests and strengths.

Behind the scenes, Ricky has overhauled key operations—cleaning up bus requests, streamlining student and medical forms, and tightening processes so coaches and athletes can focus more on the field and less on logistics. Known as someone who is genuinely relatable to both students and staff, he bridges the gap between administration and everyday school life, making athletics a stronger, more accessible part of the entire district.
