Crothersville School System

Curtis White is a true servant leader who juggles roles as athletic director, girls’ varsity basketball coach, upper-level math teacher, school safety coordinator, and pastor—all in service of his students and community. He is known for modeling humility and work ethic in tangible ways: if a floor needs cleaning or a wall needs painting, he does it himself, believing there is no job beneath him when it comes to making the school shine. This year, he led a special celebration of the 50th anniversary of girls’ basketball in Indiana, honoring Crothersville’s first girls’ team and their original opponent in an event that drew local television coverage and deepened community pride. Often working through summers and weekends, Curtis is committed to upgrading Crothersville’s athletic facilities over the next few years so that even one of the smallest schools in the state can feel immense pride in where they come from.
