As Athletic Director at Rio Mesa High School, Chris Ruffinelli is known for quietly doing whatever it takes to put athletes first. He makes it a point to show up for every sport, from marquee games to lower-profile events, so all student-athletes feel seen, supported, and valued. Behind the scenes, he works to remove barriers by helping with fees, transportation, and equipment, and he sets clear expectations for sportsmanship and respect so every program competes in a safe, inclusive environment.

Chris also strengthens school pride by organizing events, tournaments, and community nights that bring families together and reflect well on Rio Mesa throughout the region. A “trusted and respected leader,” he extends his impact beyond campus through service on regional committees and volunteer work with AYSO youth soccer.
