Katie Johnson leads Latin Athletics with a clear sense of purpose, building structures that help student-athletes and coaches thrive on and off the field. She created a full leadership pathway through Romans Institute, a preseason retreat where athletes set expectations and learn how to support their teams, and SAAB, a student-athlete advisory board that brings representatives from every sport together to give feedback, lead sportsmanship projects, and strengthen communication across the department. Johnson has also professionalized and aligned the coaching experience, introducing clearer hiring practices, structured evaluations, targeted development, and a Coaches Retreat that unifies standards and support for kids.

By pairing consistent social media coverage, sport features, and media days with daily presence at practices and events, she ensures every athlete feels seen—and backs it up with a servant-leader mindset shaped by mentors who “never asked anyone to do something they wouldn’t do themselves.”
