Jon has dedicated his career to elevating student-athletes through creative storytelling, impactful department branding, and a deep commitment to celebrating both athletes and the community he serves.

He founded the Warrior Athletic Council, providing student-athletes with a platform to lead, serve, and represent their teams beyond competition. Through initiatives such as reading to elementary students, leadership discussions, and mentorship opportunities, the Council has developed athletes who see their roles as larger than the sport itself, fostering character, leadership, and service as central values of the athletic program. Jon also coordinated the first unified meeting between the Council and high school coaches to build shared purpose, open dialogue, and align expectations—ensuring coaches understand how their leadership affects athletes beyond the field.

Jon’s community impact extends to creating safe and supportive environments for all athletes. By maintaining an open-door approach, he learned from female athletes that their locker room did not reflect their value or provide a fully supportive space. In response, Jon partnered with boosters to launch a fundraising campaign for a new locker room, creating a space that honors their experience and demonstrates the importance of student voices.

As a leader, Jon has strengthened communication across families, coaches, and athletes by standardizing messaging, evaluation language, and departmentwide updates that highlight achievements and reinforce shared values. His focus on clear, intentional communication fosters trust, builds professionalism, and ensures that the community feels connected to the work happening in the athletic department.
