For more than two decades, Don Sparks has poured himself into North Ridgeville athletics, quietly shaping a program where every sport—not just football and basketball—receives genuine support and visibility. He goes above and beyond to ensure coaches and teams have what they need, from organizing professional development and equitable facility schedules to partnering with boosters for new jerseys, equipment, and program improvements.

Don is just as invested in students, leading scholarship opportunities, highlighting athletes of the week, and recognizing sportsmanship so kids feel seen for both performance and character. Known for his constant availability, he’s the kind of leader who picks up the phone, answers the late-night email, and keeps communicating until problems are solved. Even after breaking both heels in a hiking accident, he continued showing up for his district—embodying his belief in always putting others first.
