St. Charles High School

Ben Owens is being recognized for the way he has combined tradition, innovation, and community pride to elevate St. Charles High School athletics. An SCHS alum himself, he has led the creation of a digital Legacy Wall by having more than a century of yearbooks scanned and made accessible online and on campus, giving students and families a living connection to the school’s history. He also launched a formal Athletic Hall of Fame program and Homecoming induction ceremony, complete with family receptions and thoughtful storytelling that show current athletes they’re part of a long, proud lineage. Under his leadership, SCHS has added new scoreboards, updated stadium signage, renovated the gym hallway, and strengthened game-day experiences and tailgates to better engage the broader community. Through all of this, Ben’s work quietly reinforces that St. Charles athletics is about legacy, belonging, and shared pride.
