PATRICK CRITCHELOW

Athletic Director

Breckinridge County High School

Patrick Critchelow is the backbone of Breckinridge County athletics, making the entire department operate smoothly so coaches can coach and players can play. He handles every detail of game operations—from setting up facilities at all hours to coordinating officials and administration—ensuring that each event runs seamlessly. Patrick has also elevated the program by bringing in new processes and ideas following a long-tenured predecessor, strengthening efficiency while honoring the school’s traditions. He intentionally involves people from across the school in athletics, whether working games or participating in recognition nights, creating a sense of shared ownership and pride.

A former head basketball coach and standout player himself, including MVP of the 1995 Kentucky Sweet Sixteen Championship and a member of a 1999 national championship team at Kentucky Wesleyan, he leads from the front with the perspective of coach, athlete, and AD.
