Jacob Van Hofwegen has built a reputation as a student- and coach-centered athletic director whose influence extends well beyond a single campus. At Beaumont, he guided the athletic department to earn the prestigious NIAAA Quality Program Award—making it the first school in California to receive this recognition. Across the three schools he has served, Jacob has been intentional about balancing budgets and support so that all programs are resourced equitably, while also working to establish Unified Sports opportunities within his league for students with intellectual disabilities.

His leadership is recognized statewide, including the Sue Kamiyama Award for outstanding leadership after he created a mentorship program for first- and second-year athletic directors. Driven by a vision he first set at age 16, Jacob continues to model what thoughtful, innovative, and inclusive athletic administration can look like.
