Chris Arand is being nominated for the Gipper Hall of Fame for the way he successfully manages 32 sports plus band, cheer, and dance while never losing sight of the people behind the programs. During COVID, he became a stabilizing force for Borgia and surrounding schools—rescheduling games on the fly, navigating conflicting policies, and keeping kids playing by calmly “keeping the ship steady” in a tough, thankless environment. He gives equal attention to every sport and activity, from football and basketball to newer programs like swimming, and has built a genuine community of coaches through intentional relationship-building and shared traditions.

Under his leadership, Borgia has become a trusted host for district and conference events, powered by a strong partnership with its volunteer Athletic Association. At the core of everything Chris does is a simple priority: it’s always about what’s best for the kids.
