Tyler Nelson goes above and beyond for Red River High School, fostering a culture where every student, coach, staff member, and family feels valued and included. After the district reorganized to assign an Athletic Director to each high school, Tyler continued to oversee all student activities, clubs, mentoring programs, and events—while also taking on his full AD responsibilities—because of his commitment to maintaining strong relationships and creating a supportive, family-like environment. His dedication extends beyond his workday, often helping custodians set up or clean up after events, showing his hands-on approach to service and leadership.

Tyler builds student leaders through annual leadership committees, helping them set goals, build school mottos, and develop a positive culture across all activities. He has also created a coaching library with resources for mentoring, morale, and professional growth, ensuring that coaches are equipped to provide meaningful experiences for students. A father of three and a mentor to over 1,200 students and 100 staff members, Tyler’s tireless dedication, vision, and servant-leadership have strengthened Red River’s programs and community, leaving a lasting legacy of excellence and care.
