JEFFREY (BRIAN) HORNE

Athletic Director

Forestview High School

Coach Horne has transformed the student-athlete experience by creating programs that foster both academic success and personal growth. Recognizing challenges among his athletes, Coach Horne implemented a mandatory study-hall program he supervised personally, resulting in the team achieving its highest collective GPA in school history and guiding multiple athletes to become first-generation college students. His innovative leadership extends beyond the classroom, designing a cross-sport leadership academy that teaches teamwork, communication, and goal-setting—boosting participation and strengthening cohesion across all teams.

Coach Horne’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and community is equally remarkable. He launched an open-access off-season training program, ensuring all athletes, regardless of financial background, could develop skills and compete fairly. Following a devastating storm, he rallied parents, alumni, and local businesses to restore damaged athletic facilities, turning adversity into a unifying effort. He also established volunteer transportation networks and partnered with teachers and student groups to host monthly “Culture Nights,” fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment for all students and families. Through his vision, dedication, and hands-on leadership, Coach Horne has left an enduring legacy that strengthens both athletics and the wider school community.
