Nickerson High School

As a first-year Athletic Director and proud Nickerson alum, Devin Maxwell has quickly become a driving force behind renewed pride, connection, and culture in the school’s athletic program. From day one, he has poured extra hours into coaching summer weights, learning every student’s name, and being a constant presence at practices, games, and school events—even while navigating family emergencies out of state. Devin focuses on relationships and inclusion, encouraging all students to participate in athletics or activities to strengthen school culture, and he communicates consistently with parents while collaborating with district administration to improve coaching staffs and secure a new weight room for Nickerson athletes.

With a long-term vision in mind, he is now forming a stakeholder group to redefine the program’s goals, pillars, values, and mission, helping restore a clear identity for Nickerson athletics.
