Eric Schroer is being nominated for the Gipper Hall of Fame for the way he has elevated equity, inclusion, and recognition across all programs at St. Charles West. In just a few years, he has advocated for softball facility upgrades to match baseball, reinvigorated the girls swimming program through a cooperative sponsorship, and helped launch a new MSHSAA Speech & Debate team to meet student interest. He has expanded recognition beyond athletics by building school-wide state send-offs that celebrate cheer, music, FBLA, DECA, and more, and is leading the district’s first-ever Franklin School Night to honor local Black history and fund a scholarship in its name.

Schroer also models servant leadership—personally working on fields during staffing shortages and implementing a new evaluation system that re-centers coaches and sponsors on education-based athletics. Known for sidestepping the spotlight, he consistently credits others in success and quietly takes responsibility when challenges arise.
