Matt Weis is being recognized for his tireless leadership in elevating both West Delaware athletics and the broader Iowa high school sports landscape. As President of the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association, he has helped raise standards statewide and spearheaded multiple “firsts,” including creating and hosting the first-ever IGHSAU-sanctioned outdoor volleyball game. At home, Matt promotes true equity by ensuring all teams have fair access to facilities, transportation, and resources, while regularly hosting both West Delaware events and neutral-site competitions to serve the wider community. His “Undeniable” theme reflects the way he puts student-athletes first and pushes programs to compete and lead at the highest level. Frequently honored at state and national conventions, Matt has earned recognition such as Certified Master Athletic Administrator and High School Athletic Director of the Year, underscoring his lasting impact on education-based athletics.
