KIPP Sharpstown College Prep

Victoria Carter is the founding athletic director at KIPP Sharpstown College Prep, where she built a full middle and high school program from the ground up, now spanning more than 20 teams. Through strategic fundraising and partnerships—including more than $30,000 in grants and sponsorships with groups like Nike, the Houston Texans, and Juventus Academy—she has expanded resources, upgraded equipment, and elevated the visibility of her student-athletes with professional-level branding through Gipper. Carter makes athletics accessible and meaningful for every student, from first-time participants to championship teams, and is known for balancing high expectations with genuine care, as seen when she held a suspended student out of competition but kept him engaged as a team manager.

Her students and colleagues describe her as “the backbone of our sports program,” a positive force whose leadership has changed lives on and off the court.
