Richard Dodd has spent more than a decade leading Shawnee High School athletics with a clear, values-driven focus on sportsmanship, integrity, and student growth. Partnering with the Positive Coaching Alliance, he established the school’s “Respect” motto and a ROOTS-based recognition program that honors athletes who exemplify respect for Rules, Opponents, Officials, Teammates, and Self—helping Shawnee consistently compete with zero disqualifications. As President of the Olympic Conference and an active leader within the NJSIAA, he keeps coaches and athletes informed, aligned, and grounded in fair play. Beyond operations, he builds community by personally assisting fans to the stands, strengthening ties with local youth programs, and hosting professional, school-wide signing day celebrations and a touchscreen athletics history hub. A former athlete, coach, and PE teacher, Dodd leads like a coach for his entire department—always present, supportive, and focused on doing things the right way.
