BRANDON MCWHORTER

Athletic Director

Coffee County Central High School

Since stepping into the athletic director role, Brandon McWhorter has focused on one driving question: how to maximize the experience for Coffee County’s players, coaches, and fans. Under his leadership, participation and success have surged—highlighted by the softball program’s first-ever state runner-up finish, back-to-back state tournament appearances for the girls basketball team (first since 1993), the boys basketball team’s first state trip in 40 years, and historic state qualifying runs for cross country and multiple individual athletes.

Brandon has also led significant facility upgrades, including new videoboards for football and basketball/volleyball, an upgraded gym floor, LED lighting across fields, and ongoing football renovations that add much-needed locker rooms for minor sports. Driven by a love of sports, coaching, and culture-building, he holds himself and his staff to running a “quality and respectable” athletic department where every program is supported and every athlete belongs.
