CHARLES KRAFT
Athletic Director
Clay-Battelle High School
Charles is an athletic director who consistently transforms vision into opportunity, elevating students, empowering coaches, and strengthening community pride while leaving a lasting legacy of excellence both on and off the field. Through securing major grants and community partnerships, he has upgraded facilities and equipment to provide student-athletes resources on par with much larger schools, while boosting school pride and engagement at every home event. Charles has built a culture of recognition by launching new student leadership programs, academic and athletic honors, and media and broadcast initiatives that celebrate students, develop real-world skills, and prepare them for life beyond high school.
Committed to equity and inclusion, he ensures every program—boys and girls, varsity and middle school—has access to uniforms, equipment, travel resources, and facility improvements, while fostering a school culture centered on celebration, effort, and community. Charles continually reinvents the way athletics are experienced by creating student-led media and communication programs and pursuing funding, partnerships, and donor campaigns that expand opportunities beyond expectations for a small, rural school district. Rooted in service, loyalty, and belief in his community, Charles invests relentlessly in students, coaches, and culture, proving that when you put people first, you don’t just build better programs—you change lives.
